These pads are a sealed impermeable easily cleanable surface. If the pads become worn or cracked, they may harbor bacteria. Before re-issue inspect each molded support pad and rubber grip and replace as necessary.Casters Casters Examine the caster and its attachment points. Ensure that bolts, nuts, washers, and caps are securely tightened. Make sure the stem is fully threaded in place. Swivel and wheel rotation should move freely without binding or excessive play. Test the locks, ensure they engage, and release as intended. Gas Springs and Dampers Gas Spring Dual Control Gas Spring Lift Lockout Gas springs can lose pressure over time, this may affect its lifting, holding or dampening force. Altimate Medical uses a variety of gas springs and dampers with differing pneumatic pressures in its product range. Inspect the gas springs, pedal and or hand trigger with cable. Replace parts as needed to ensure proper function. Inspect and replace as necessary: Pow'r Up – Electric Lift Actuator Systems Electric Actuator and Control Battery Inspect all the wires, harnesses plug points for damage, kinks, or exposed wiring. Altimate Medical recommends replacing the battery every 4 years. Replace any components that appear damaged. Test the emergency release system, by pulling the pin and lifting the trigger handle. Inspect and replace as necessary: Corrosion Base Frame (Underside) Hardware (Nuts and Bolts) Examine all metal surfaces and hardware for corrosion: Any corroded component must be replaced. Corroded objects have irregular surfaces that are more likely to harbor bacteria.
